LEGAL SERVICE
Provides
legal advice and opinion to the agency
on matters involving statutes, laws,
rules and regulations affecting the
Bureau; conducts research/studies
on the legal aspects of orders, rules
and regulations issued by or affecting
the agency; acts as counsel of the
Treasurer of the Philippines, acting
alone or in collaboration with the
Office of the Solicitor General and/or
Provincial/City Fiscal, in court litigation
involving the Treasurer of the Philippines
in cases wherein the Treasury is impleaded
as Party-Defendant; conducts investigation
and hearing of administrative cases
filed against Treasury personnel;
takes legal action against violators
of treasury regulations; handles the
escheat of dormant accounts with banks
pursuant to existing laws.
